THIS IS A S.E.L.F - Sustainable Environmental Livelihoods for the Future
Why you may ask?
Many schools are not lucky enough to have land that they can utilise for conservation and outdoor education and if they do have land do not have the solutions to develop it constructively. This S.E.L.F initiative hopes to address these issues and create a sustainable economic model that we can show off to other schools nationally and internationally.
By bringing together a local school, landowner, business and farm accompanied with Emotional Intelligence and Biodynamic Skills from Indigo Brave... we can partner to create change. With the kind support of Green Gains from Nottingham Trent University the Business Department are researching the project and producing a report on how economically we can make sustain this work with the help of some funding and opening the classrooms at weekends and holidays to glam camping, which the school can sell to parents or East Bridgford Hill will sell through their events.
This project is depending on community involvement and buy in. We are looking for support and involvement from the community and we are also looking for a local apprentice who would be challenged by the idea of learning how to create a biodynamic garden and plastic free classrooms - All these skills the apprentice would learn in building, land care, animal care and the principals of biodynamic gardening.
If you would like to get involved and you love animlas, are a builder, would like to learn how to make a tree house, cob building and pizza oven, have skills you can contribute or a company that would like to sponsor us or even a company that your staff would like to get involved... talk to us
